ROMANTISK HÖSTKONSERT

Lagom till att löven börjar skifta i färg och högsommarljusa kvällar flyr, bjuds vi på en lidelsefull och vacker höstkonsert med Katherine Osbourne på sång och James Jenkins på piano.

Katherine Osborne, mezzo-sopran, har en musikalisk bana som spänner sig från barocken ända in i 2000-talet. Hennes repertoar inkluderar såväl mindre kända operor av Haydn, Donizetti, Pauline Viardot-Garcia och Ronald Perrera, som berömda verk av Puccini, Verdi, Wagner, Bizet och Britten.
Förutom opera har hon varit solist i Händels Messias, Mozarts Requiem, Beethovens Symfoni nr. 9, med flera. Osborne har vunnit priser från Opera Guild of Northern Virginia, Paul Robeson Vocal Competition, National Association of Teachers of Singing, Bel Canto Foundation, samt Overture to the Cultural Season. 2019 påbörjade sin tjänst som lärare i klassisk sång vid Musikhögskolan i Piteå, Luleå tekniksa universitet. Innan dess medverkade hon i Härnösands Operafestival från 2015-2017, både inom kollegiet och som solist. I december 2019 gav hon konsert med operarepertoar och oratoriearior på uppdrag av Umeå Musiksällskap.

James Jenkins is a pianist who enjoys a wide range of artistic pursuits such as vocal and instrumental collaboration, choral accompaniment, vocal coaching, teaching and composing. As a former resident of the Washington, DC area, he performed in many of Washington’s most prestigious venues, including the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage, Arts Club of Washington, Smithsonian Institution, National Gallery of Art, and the Washington National Cathedral. He was also the pianist for the award-winning Thomas Circle Singers from 2007-2012. From 2012 to 2015, as a resident of central Ohio, James was a freelance pianist and vocal coach at The Ohio State University, a staff accompanist for Ohio Wesleyan University, and did extensive work with Opera Columbus. During the summers of 2015 to 2017 he was an accompanist and vocal coach at Härnösand Opera Academy and Festival in Härnösand, Sweden. Previous summers have included accompanying distinguished artists and conductors in workshops at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ. From 2015 to 2019 he was an instructor at the University of Northern Iowa School of Music serving as a collaborative pianist primarily in the voice and opera departments. Presently, James is employed at Framnäs folkhögskolan as a collaborative pianist/coach and piano teacher and also works with the Erik Westberg Vocal Ensemble as rehearsal and recording pianist. Mr. Jenkins received his Master’s degree in collaborative piano from the University of Maryland, College Park and his Bachelor’s degree in piano performance from Stetson University, Deland FL.
